Dark Interface
The whole app has a dark palette with the same contrast as the light one. It follows the phone's setting or is chosen in Blist Settings → Theme.
iPhone: Settings → Display & Brightness → Dark. Android: Settings → Display → Dark theme.
Accessibility
Our audience is older adults and the people who care for them. This page says what the app supports today, how to turn it on and what is missing. We update it with every version.
Checked on the published app, following the criteria of the App Store's accessibility labels.
The whole app has a dark palette with the same contrast as the light one. It follows the phone's setting or is chosen in Blist Settings → Theme.
iPhone: Settings → Display & Brightness → Dark. Android: Settings → Display → Dark theme.
Every dose state is marked with an icon and a text besides the color: a check and "Taken", a bell and the time, a triangle and "3 left". It can be used in grayscale.
No setup needed.
Decorative animations turn off and transitions become fades when the phone asks for reduced motion.
iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Motion → Reduce Motion. Android: Settings → Accessibility → Remove animations.
For someone who uses the phone just enough: one screen with the day's doses, large text from the start, tall buttons and an emergency button in view. It is turned on in Blist Settings → Simple mode, and the person who accompanies can leave it set up.
What we do not declare in the store yet because we do not meet it on every screen.
The app follows the phone's text size on almost every screen. The next version fixes the three where, at 200%, a text was cut or covered another.
In dark mode every text exceeds 4.5:1. In light mode five text colors sat just below on the grey backgrounds; they are darkened in the next version.
Buttons and icons carry labels for screen readers. Each task still has to be walked through with VoiceOver and TalkBack on a real phone before we declare it.
If you use a screen reader, larger text or another aid and something in Blist cannot be used, write to us. Tell us the phone and the aid you use; we test it and reply.
