How to organize your own or a family member's medication
Seven everyday steps for centralizing existing instructions, setting reminders, and sharing information with clear boundaries.
Before you begin
This guide is about everyday organization. It does not tell you which medication to take or how to change doses or schedules. Always use current professional instructions and the package or leaflet.
If instructions conflict, a dose was missed, or anything is unclear, consult a doctor or pharmacist before deciding what to do.
1. Gather current information
Keep current professional instructions, packages, and leaflets available. Do not enter information from memory or rely on older instructions that may have changed.
2. Record without reinterpreting
Copy the medication name, dose, and schedule exactly as instructed. Blist organizes the information it receives but does not verify or correct a prescription.
3. Set schedules and reminders
Set schedules according to the instructions and check that device notifications are enabled.
Reminders are supplementary and may depend on connectivity, permissions, and the phone's operation.
4. Keep stock current
Recording available units can help anticipate refills. Update stock whenever medication is added or removed so the estimate remains useful.
5. Invite only trusted people
If several people coordinate the routine, invite only those who need to participate and review permissions before sharing information.
You need authorization or valid legal authority to enter or share another person's information.
6. Agree on how actions will be recorded
Agree on who normally records each action and how questions will be communicated. History helps consult what was reported in Blist but does not replace conversation or human supervision when needed.
7. Review information after changes
When a professional changes instructions, update the information and review reminders, stock, and permissions. Do not change medication, doses, or schedules on your own.
Responsible medication use
Argentina's ANMAT recommends using and storing medication as instructed, reading the leaflet, and consulting a professional before taking a medicinal product.
